Idaho’s Capital of Outdoor Adventure and Urban Sophistication

Idaho’s capital city, Boise, sits along the Boise River and just at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. As is to be expected from such a location, it is a place that is surrounded by natural beauty. And with that comes a place that is filled with year-round outdoor adventures and activities. In the winter, Boise transforms into a winter sports haven with multiple ski areas in the region. When it warms up, Boise offers such activities as mountain biking, hiking and rock climbing. While Idaho and Boise are commonly associated with the potato industry, recent years have seen a lot of growth in the tech sector as well as becoming the home of several major companies’ headquarters. With this growth has come a burgeoning civic culture such as theatres, art galleries and fine eateries have been growing in numbers.

One of the most popular activities amongst visitors and locals alike is an inner tube ride down the Boise River. The lazy journey begins at Barber Park on the eastern side of town and meanders for three hours until it reaches the end at Ann Morrison Park in downtown. The best part is that there is a shuttle to bring you back to your starting point. Just about a 40-minute drive from Boise is Bogus Basin Ski Resort, with excellent cross-country and downhill skiing, tubing and snowboarding. If you are craving some culture, back in town the Boise Contemporary Theatre produces shows throughout the year that focus on present-day issues and ideas. For your shopping fix, Eighth Street Marketplace has shopping, nightlife and dining with a local flair. As for hotel accommodations in Boise, the top four-star property is Hotel 43, set right downtown. There are two on-site restaurants, opulent rooms and a great location, all of which make for a perfect time while you visit Boise.

Private Aircraft Charter to Boise FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Boise?

Visitors to Boise have two airports available, with one just outside of town and the other just to the west in the town of Nampa. Boise Air Terminal – BOI – is closest to downtown at just 5-miles away with a 10-minute drive. Because it is right on Interstate 84, BOI is ideal for guests spending their time in Boise as well as visiting Sawtooth National Forest and the Morey Nelson National Conservation Area. Nampa Airport – MAN – is 17 miles to the west of Boise and just a few miles from Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge. Nampa Airport does not have any airline services so guests can enjoy far less traffic and congestion than is encountered at Boise Air Terminal. What’s best is that both airports have more than enough runway to accommodate everything from turboprops to long-range business jets.
