Major League Baseball All-Star Game
The Summer Classic in South Florida
There are few things that represent summer in America like Major League Baseball and its All-Star Game. At the mid-point of the season each year is when the very best players from each team in baseball join forces, representing the National and American Leagues for one of the most exciting games of the season, The Mid-Summer Classic. What makes it significant is that the winning teams league champion gains the home-field advantage during the World Series, so the stakes are high. 2017 will see the 88th All Star Game, played at Marlins Park in Miami, FL the with the Florida Marlins Baseball Team playing host. And what’s best is that the All Start Game is not just one day of excitement but rather, it is an entire week of events, all centered around America’s Pastime.
During All Start week there are events happening all over town such as Fan Fest at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This event is where fans can meet some of baseball’s biggest legends, play against them on the indoor baseball diamond, attend skills clinics and take part in Q&A sessions. Fan Fest is fun for everyone and runs from Friday, July 7th through Tuesday, July 11th. Aside from the All-Star Game, the most popular event of the week is the Home-Run Derby during All-Start Workout Day. The derby is where the league’s biggest hitters take to home plate to see who can hit the most home runs. It is non-stop fun and hours of the game’s most exciting event. On All-Star Sunday and before the big game is the Futures Game followed by the All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game where baseball stars of the past play a friendly yet competitive game against popular celebrities. The 2017 All-Star Game being in Miami means that along with All-Star Week and the All-Star Game will be 5-star accommodations, top dining options and all the fun of South Florida.
Private Aircraft Charter to Major League Baseball All-Star Game FAQ
What do I need to think about when chartering to Major League Baseball All-Star Game?
In 2017, the Major League Baseball All-Star Game will be taking place at Marlins Park in downtown Miami, Florida. South Florida and the greater Miami area have many airports and three of which are great for your arrival and departure. The closest airport to downtown Miami and Marlins Park is Miami International Airport – MIA, which is also the major international airport for South Florida. It is just about five miles from Marlins Park and takes from 20-30 minutes by car. So, while the airport has a great location and is equipped for even the largest aircraft, getting in and out can take a bit longer with MIA being a commercial airline airport as well. 14 miles to the north of Marlins Park is Opa-Locka Executive Airport – OPF, which can handle all classes of aircraft. Being a purely private airport it is far less busy and access is fast and easy. Guests who will be visiting and staying in North Miami Beach and Hollywood will find OPF to be an excellent choice. And 21 miles to the south of Marlins Park is Miami Executive Airport – TMB, with a runway that is great for aircraft up to mid-sized jets. Although TMB is a bit further away from downtown Miami, it’s location is right near Ocean Reef and the Florida Turnpike so it’s perfect if you’ll also be visiting the Florida Keys.
