Costa Mesa

Orange County Sophistication

The city of Costa Mesa is in Orange County, just a few miles from the coast and in-between Los Angeles and San Diego. This means that like the rest of Southern California, the weather is that of a semi-arid climate meaning warm days, cool nights and mild winters with barely any rain. Costa Mesa had humble beginnings as mostly farmland and the home of a major military installation. Over the years, however, it has grown into a prosperous town that has a strong focus on entertainment and the performing arts with a great blend of suburban serenity and urban sophistication. There are endless shops, restaurants and bars in a downtown setting that resides next to quiet residential neighborhoods. And Costa Mesa’s location is idea for visits to the many theme parks in the region such as Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and Universal Studios. This all adds up to a vacation destination that fully embodies the California ethos of slowing down and enjoying life.

Costa Mesa and its thriving arts scene is where Orange County looks for its creative inspiration. It is home to an internationally recognized theatre district with the Renée & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall as its anchor. This makes it a top destination for fans of the visual and performing arts. Along with its arts scene, Costa Mesa is also where some of Orange County’s best restaurants are located. Culinary delights from every corner of the world with fresh, locally sourced ingredients are abundant. Costa Mesa, as expected, has amazing shopping, with everything from major, national retailers all the way to locally owned boutiques. Only a mile or so from downtown is the Pacific Ocean and its wonderful beaches. Costa Mesa is always just a quick trip away from surfing, sailing and relaxing in the sun. And in keeping with the level of quality expected in Costa Mesa, there are many luxury hotels, including Avenue of The Arts – A Tribute Portfolio Hotel and The Westin South Coast Plaza.

Private Aircraft Charter to Costa Mesa FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Costa Mesa?

Costa Mesa is served by Santa Ana-John Wayne International Airport – SNA – and Fullerton Municipal Airport – FUL. SNA is closest to Santa Ana, and it serves as the major commercial airport for Orange County. This means that it has very long runways and is well-equipped to handle every size and class of charter jet. SNA is conveniently located for quick access to places like Disneyland, Costa Mesa and all of Orange County’s beaches. Fullerton Municipal Airport is 27-miles north of Costa Mesa and since it does not have airline service, FUL has far fewer crowds and traffic getting in and out. Because FUL has short runways, it can only accommodate turboprops and very light jets. FUL airport is conveniently located near Interstate 5 as well as the 605 and 405 freeways so there is very quick access to the all of Southern California.
