Tacoma

Arrive Curious - Leave Inspired

Tacoma, set along Washington’s beautiful Puget Sound, is a city that has transformed from a sleepy industrial center into an exciting and refined destination. In the past, Tacoma has been in the shadows of its northern neighbor of Seattle. The reality, however, is that Tacoma is a place all its own and one that is an excellent destination for visitors to enjoy. After years of downturn, the city of Tacoma has been consistently developing, modernizing and renewing the waterfront and downtown into a place that is enjoyed by visitors and residents alike. Home to six major museums, unique galleries and public art, it’s no wonder Tacoma made Forbes' list of “13 Art Trips You Need to Take.” Being set in the beautiful Pacific Northwest means that the region is full of natural attractions and outdoor excitement. From fishing on the Puget Sound to cycling at Swan Creek Mountain Bike Park, Tacoma is an outdoor sports paradise.

Downtown Tacoma, where the biggest changes have taken place, now boasts a number of eateries, bars and sophisticated art and design galleries. Along the waterfront in Tacoma is the Waterwalk at Point Ruston. Here, visitors can relax and take in the beautiful Puget Sound, kayak, paddle board or rent a bike for a leisurely ride along the water. Tacoma also has a lot of unique museums like LeMay – America’s Car Museum, where there are over 350 late 60’s cars, all restored to pristine condition. Guests can learn about the romantic history of American cars with exhibits covering every facet American automobile history. In the evenings, Tacoma lights up downtown with many quality bars serving artisanal cocktails and microbrews from the Northwest. The accommodations are varied, and the inventory of high-end hotels is growing with the Hotel Murano – a Provenance Hotel offering lush rooms, a full-service spa and a beautiful lobby with glass sculpture collection from around the world. And although Tacoma may not be the most well-known vacation spot, there is no doubt that you will leave pleasantly surprised.

Private Aircraft Charter to Tacoma FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Tacoma?

Tacoma and the greater Seattle region are serviced by two excellent airports, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Tacoma Narrows Airport and Pierce County Airport. The airport closest to downtown is Tacoma Narrows Airport – TIW, which is just a quick 15-minute drive away. The runway at TIW is not the longest and is best for all classes of aircraft up to mid-sized jets. TIW is a great airport for guests who are visiting the communities and islands around the Puget Sound. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport - SEA, is, as the name suggests, the major airport shared by both cities. Its runway is long enough for all classes of aircraft and there are great ground handling facilities. Depending on traffic, it takes just around 25 minutes to drive from SEA to downtown Tacoma. SEA airport is an ideal choice for guests who will also be visiting the communities to the north of Seattle such as Redmond and Everett.
