USGA U.S. Open

One of Professional Golf's Premier Events

The U.S. Open of Golf, formally known as the United States Open Championship, is professional golf’s open national championship, held by the U.S. Golf Association. This year’s U.S. Open will be taking place at the The Country Club on Bedford, less than 7 miles to the southwest of Boston. The U.S. Open is the second of professional golf's four major championships. It is held every year and is part of both the PGA Tour as well as the European Open. What makes this tournament unique as that it is at an unfamiliar course each year. While classics like The Masters and The Open Championship always happen at the same courses, the U.S. Open of Golf offers a new challenging venue year after year. This makes the game very challenging. So much so that the U.S. Open winner typically finishes near even par. Held in June each year with the finals always on Father’s Day Sunday, fans can expect near perfect weather and an ideal way to kick off the summer.

The 122nd U.S. Open of Golf will be played at the venerable The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. Holding a key place in golf history, The Country Club was one of the U.S. Golf Association’s original five charter clubs. It has hosted many of the USGA’s top tournaments as far back as 1913. Although The Country Club has 27 holes split between two courses, tournaments are held over the original 18 holes. This course includes Clyde and Squirrel nines, which make up the same course as was played during the 1913 U.S. Open of Golf. While daily tickets are available for the Trophy Club, Garden and Gallery sites, many guests prefer the weekly cabana packages. Those guests enjoy cabana tickets for each day of the tournament, cabana-style seating as well as gourmet catering and bar & bottle service.

Private Aircraft Charter to USGA U.S. Open FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to USGA U.S. Open?

Being in Brookline, MA, just outside of Boston means that there are several airport options that make reaching The Country Club a simple task. What’s more is that they are all short drive away. Laurence G Hanscom Field Airport – BED – is located about 14.5 miles to the north of Brookline and sees a drive of between 15-20-minutes between the airport and The Country Club. As the Boston area’s primary airport serving business jets and private aircraft, Laurence G Hanscom Field Airport has more than enough room to comfortably accommodate all sizes and classes of aircraft. As a second area airport that welcomes even the largest aircraft is Boston’s General Edward Laurence Logan International Airport – BOS. Although it is less than 14-miles from Brookline, Boston is known for its traffic and the drive can range from 25-50-minutes long. Logan Airport is a great choice for guests who will be staying in Boston or who may want to also enjoy its sights and attractions. Norwood Municipal Airport - OWD - is also available for guests heading to the U.S. Open of Golf. It is located 14.5 miles to the south of Brookline, which is normally about 25-minutes by car. Because Norwood Municipal Airport is a bit smaller than most, it is restricted to turboprops and light jets. Many guests appreciate the fact that Norwood Municipal Airport is relative quiet and offers very easy access.
