San Jose

We'll Show You the Way to San Jose

For years, San Jose was known as a sleepy town down the road from San Francisco with not much in the way of attractions and excitement. These days, however, San Jose is known as the center of technology and innovation, with tech companies that range from tiny startups to huge internet giants. And with this has come San Jose’s growth into one of the most unique and interesting destinations in California. Set in Northern California at the southern tip of the San Francisco Bay, San Jose has perfect weather, beautiful scenery and a friendly vibe. And its location makes it a great place to set off on visits to the coastal communities of Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel-By-The-Sea. Downtown San Jose’s tree-lined streets are filled with casual and high-end dining, local breweries, theatres and shops. San Pedro Square has a public market that is filled with local vendors offering gourmet ethnic food, live performances and artisan goods.

In line with the technology of Silicon Valley is the Tech Museum of Innovation, an interactive museum where visitors can learn more about technology and how it affects our daily lives. The San Jose Museum of Art’s contemporary collection focuses on artists and styles native to the West Coast. For high-end retail enjoyment, Santana Row offers a European-style shopping village where there is also nightlife, dining and hotels, all set for a relaxing day. San Jose also has the excitement of professional sports, being home to the NHL’s San Jose Sharks and MLS’s San Jose Earthquakes. Baseball fans will love checking out the San Jose Giants minor league team. It is classic baseball at its finest with young up-and-comers vying for a spot in the majors. When it comes to festivals, the great weather year-round allows something during every month, with events like the San Jose Jazz Festival, Cinco de Mayo and Cinequest. And with luxury accommodations downtown such as the Fairmont and Westin hotels, you can be sure your time in San Jose will be complete.

Private Aircraft Charter to San Jose FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to San Jose?

Visitors to San Jose will find that arriving and departing will be a simple affair with excellent area airports ready for their visit. While most major airports can be difficult to access due to traffic and crowds, Norman Y Mineta San Jose International Airport – SJC -- is very easy to use with its FBOs on the opposite side of the airport from its passenger terminal. This means that there are rarely delays and using SJC is a hassle-free experience. Guests who prefer a smaller airport and an even easier time have Reid-Hillview Airport of Santa Clara County – RHV. RHV is just six miles from downtown San Jose and the ride is only about 10-minutes by car. RHV is a smaller airport with a short runway, so this is a place to arrive for guests in turboprops and very light jets. If you will be visiting the tech corridor just to the north of San Jose, Palo Alto Airport – PAO -- is near many major tech companies and is an excellent choice for turboprops and very light jets as well. Getting to San Jose from Palo Alto is just a fast 25-minute drive over about 17 miles.
