Lakewood

Where Your Colorado Adventure Begins

Lakewood, CO, is one of the largest cities in the Denver Metropolitan Area and is filled with exciting things to do and see. Set between the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and the city of Denver, Lakewood boasts some of the best views of the Rockies and a surprisingly pleasant climate. Colorado has a reputation for being very cold and snowy. However, Lakewood sees over 300 days of sunshine with warm summers and winters that are relatively mild. Lakewood’s location in the middle of the state makes it a great starting point for the outdoor adventures around Colorado. With the Rocky Mountains within view, some of the world’s best skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking are all just a quick drive away. Along with the natural environment, the pedestrian-friendly downtown has restaurants, galleries and fun shops. Lakewood is also full of arts and culture. The West Colefax Corridor in Lakewood was recently named a Colorado Creative District that has galleries, performance venues and 20+ public instillations.

Colorado and Lakewood are places that are very connected with their environment, from winter skiing to endless summer adventures. At Bear Creek Lake Park, guests can enjoy miles of hiking trails, swimming and fishing in the lake and pristine camp site with barbecues. During the winter, guests can head up to some of the Colorado’s best ski areas including Winter Park, Eldora Mountain and Echo Mount ski resorts. With Colorado being home to 161 breweries, many of which are independent, it makes sense that Lakewood is a top destination for beer lovers. Brewers such as great Frontier Brewing Company and Landlocked Ales call Lakewood home and offer tastings and tours. Each September brings the Lakewood Wine & Craft Beer Festival where the local breweries and wineries open their doors and line the streets with tasting booths.

Private Aircraft Charter to Lakewood FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Lakewood?

Lakewood is part of Denver’s metropolitan region, so guests can rest assured that are great airports to serve their flights to the region. Centennial Airport – APA – is the closest airport to Lakewood at 34 miles away with a 35-minute drive. APA is ideal for charter flights as there is no airline traffic and more than enough runway for everything from turboprops to long-range heavy jets. A bit further from Lakewood is Denver International Airport – DEN – which is the region’s main commercial airport. DEN is about 40-miles from downtown Lakewood and requires about a 45-60-minute drive, depending on traffic conditions. DEN is set right near all Colorado’s interstate highways so there is easy access to the entire metropolitan area as well as the many ski areas to the west.
