Honolulu

A True Pacific Paradise

Although many people visit the Hawaiian Islands for a relaxing getaway, the city of Honolulu is a vibrant, exciting place that blends the vibe of a major metropolis with that of a tropical paradise. Located on the southwestern tip of the island of Oahu, Honolulu is right in the middle of the Pacific Ocean just north of the equator. It’s this location that gives Honolulu a perfect tropical climate with temperatures in the 80’s during the day and in the low 70’s at night. During the winter, the climate is only slightly cooler, which make it a perfect place to visit year-round. Honolulu is the business and cultural center of the Hawaiian Islands and for much of the Pacific. It is a diverse and multicultural city that blends many Asian cultures with rich and vibrant Hawaiian history. And as a major city, it has every modern amenity to be expected such as exciting nightlife, excellent shopping and fine dining. The hotels in Waikiki range from classic Hawaiian-themed properties to high-end luxury resorts.

Obviously, when you visit Honolulu, a lot of your time will be spent relaxing on Waikiki Beach and taking in the warm sun. Lined with amazing hotels and resorts and up against downtown Honolulu, Waikiki is two miles of soft sand and warm, light blue water. There many exciting adventures at Waikiki such as catamaran rides, snorkeling and surf lessons. If you prefer a less busy beach, Ala Moana Park is to the west of Waikiki and is where many locals go to enjoy the iconic palm trees and park-like setting with smaller crowds and calmer waters. Keep in mind, however, that Honolulu has more than just beautiful beaches. Like any city, Honolulu is no stranger to the performing arts, though here it comes steeped in Hawaiian culture. Along with hula shows and luaus – traditional Hawaiian parties with dancing and a feast - are theatres, clubs and concert venues all showcasing local and major acts. And for some history, the Bishop Museum is the largest on the islands and feature Hawaiian history and culture with ancient artifacts as well as a planetarium and science center.

Private Aircraft Charter to Honolulu FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Honolulu?

The main airport serving Honolulu and the Hawaiian Islands is Honolulu International Airport – HNL. It is just 5 miles from downtown Honolulu and only 10-15 minutes by car. Oahu’s major roadways all pass HNL, so access to the rest of the island is quick and easy. Kalaeloa Airport – HJR – is a second arrival and departure airport in Honolulu that welcomes charter flights. While HJR is a bit further from Honolulu, because there is no competing commercial airline traffic, many guests prefer the added ease of access and the more exclusive experience. Drive times from HJR to Honolulu are about 20-30-minutes over the 22 scenic miles.
