Central Coast Wine Country
Right between San Francisco and Los Angeles in San Luis Obispo County is the beautiful town of Paso Robles, CA. Bounded by the Coastal Mountain Ranges to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west, the area is quickly becoming the premier wine region of the Central Coast. The town is growing rapidly, and the surrounding area now boasts over 200 local wineries and vineyards. At the same time, there is a growing number of distilleries and breweries in Paso Robles as well. Add to that the quaint downtown area with its eateries, galleries, shops and live music and you have a destination full of fun and relaxation. Wineries such as Tobin James, JUSTIN Vineyards and Castoro Wine Cellars all have tours of their facilities and wine tasting where you can meet with and learn from their owners and makers. At the Vina Robles Winery and Amphitheatre, you’ll find “European Inspiration – California Character” in their wines, all while taking in the live entertainment at their music venue.
Along with the wineries and vineyards in Paso Robles, there are also a whole lot of outdoor activities and excitement. If you're interested in fun on the water, 18-mile long Lake Nacimiento has excellent fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and jet skiing. The area is also full of hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing, all in the golden hills and mountains of the Central Coast.
