Oregon’s Link to Classic Golf
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is a hidden gem set on the stunning and rugged Southern Oregon coast. It’s home to four links golf courses and one par-3 traditional golf course with the beautiful Pacific Coast as their backdrop. The resort’s location in this undeveloped part of Oregon makes it an ideal place for links golf – the classic style of golf, typically played through sand dunes along the coast. Links play is also a bit different from modern golf in that it’s coastal locations are often windy with challenging fairways that are rarely even, deep bunkers and roughs that are far thicker than typically seen. Each course is unique and has been created by renowned golf course designers. Bandon Trails course traverses forest land, dunes and meadows and does not see the Pacific Ocean. Pacific Dunes course, as the name suggests, lies along the coast with amazing views and has been rated the number one golf course in the United States. Bandon Dunes also has excellent areas to practice. The Punchbowl is a professionally designed putting green that is over one-hundred-thousand square feet in area and includes the Practice Center with a driving range. Shorties is a par-three course with nine holes and was created for practice and having fun.
Bandon Dunes has six restaurants and a bar on the property, each with its own unique atmosphere, menu and amazing views. At the Pacific Grille, enjoy fresh, local seafood while enjoying the broad views of the Pacific Ocean and the Bandon Dunes. McKee’s Pub is a vintage pub in the Scottish style, perfect for the classic golf atmosphere where you can enjoy classic pub fare like fish & chips, lamb stew and clam chowder. And keep in mind that all the on-site restaurants serve breakfast and lunch as well. And when you are ready to retire for the evening, you will be sure to find perfect accommodations with five styles of lodging on site. The Inn, set on the coast, has beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean along with a bar and reading room. The Grove Cottages are individual cottages, all with four bedrooms that enjoy fireplaces, huge windows with garden settings and a view of the adjacent courses and forest. The Chrome Lake cottages are next to a calm lake in a quiet and relaxing setting. When you visit Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you will have everything you need for a perfect golfing getaway, all in one beautiful place.
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is served by Southwest Oregon Regional Airport – OTH – located about 25 miles and a 45-minute drive away. OTH is the only commercial airport that serves the southwest portion of the state, and it handles most of the charter flights carrying passengers heading to Bandon Dunes. Guests arriving in smaller aircraft such as turboprops and very light jets can also use Bandon State Airport – S05-- which has shorter runways than OTH. Just about 10 miles from Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, S05 is an ideal option for guests in aircraft capable of using smaller airport.
