Scottsdale

Opulent Luxury in the Sonoran Desert

In the eastern portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area is the idyllic city of Scottsdale. It sits in Arizona’s “Valley of the Sun”, named for the Sonoran Desert valley in the central section of the state. Part of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, Scottsdale is surrounded by communities on three side with the Tonto National Forest to the east. Scottsdale’s desert climate means that while the summers are a bit warm, the other seasons are lovely, and the winter is such that it is a top winter destination for folks from colder climates. Owing to its very high standard of living, Scottsdale was named a “Most Livable City” by the United States Conference of Mayors. What makes Scottsdale such a great place to live also makes it a perfect holiday destination. Filled with high-end shopping, gourmet dining and endless outdoor excitement, Scottsdale is the perfect place to base a visit to the Phoenix area.

Guests visiting Scottsdale may enjoy the many five-star and five-diamond golf resorts, the luxury shopping centers and taking in the sights and activities in town. Home to over 200 golf courses, Scottsdale is constantly ranked as a top golfing destination. In fact, The Boulders Resort & Golden Spa and the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North have been rated in the top-five golf reports in the nation. While Scottsdale is an urban area, there are still some great outdoor adventure opportunities. Camleback Mountain is only three-and-a-half miles away with two hiking trails to the top with incredible views of the entire Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Old Town Scottsdale, known as downtown, is filled with shops, bars and gourmet eateries. Scottsdale has excellent shopping from small local boutiques to huge shopping malls. Fashion Square Mall – one of the biggest in the U.S. – is in downtown Scottsdale and features brand name luxury retailers and endless dining options.

Private Aircraft Charter to Scottsdale FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Scottsdale?

Scottsdale and the Phoenix metropolitan area are served by two airports that are perfect for visitors’ charter flights to the region. Closest to Scottsdale is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport – PHX - at just a 20-minute drive over 10 miles. PHX is a perfect choice if you will be visiting the western side of the Salt River Valley, including Phoenix. As the main airport for the area, PHX is quite busy and sees airline traffic, so guests will encounter the traffic and crowds typical of major gateways. Guests who prefer a less-busy airport can use Scottsdale Airport – SDL. As a purely general aviation airport, SDL was made for charter flights with its excellent ground handling, no crowds and few to no delays. Many of the Scottsdale’s golf resorts, outdoor adventures and shopping are all easily accessible from SDL airport.
