Sedona

Arizona’s Desert Rose

About 120 miles north of Phoenix in the center of Arizona is the town of Sedona. It sits in an otherworldly environment, surrounded by deep canyons, red rock buttes and the Coconino pine forest. It’s the red, desert sandstone formations that glow in the evening light that make Sedona a popular place for spiritual exploration Regarded for its beauty and tranquility in the stunning desert landscape, Sedona draws many visitors due to its place in the art world. There are almost 100 galleries and related events including the Sedona International Film Festival, Sedona Arts Festival and the Sedona Jazz Festival. What this thriving arts scene brings to Sedona is a liberal community that leans to the left, and as such, could be considered “new-age”. And with such a liberal population, Sedona is a very open and friendly community that is set on expression, artistic freedom and forward thinking.

While guests are in Sedona, it is absolutely necessary that they get out and view the surrounding area. There are guided hiking and biking tours as well as those aboard Jeeps and off-road vehicles that allow guests to see the sights around Sedona in a completely unique and exciting way. This isn’t to say that Sedona is all outdoor adventure. Offering some time in a greener environment, Sedona is home to some great upscale golf courses such as Seven Canyons Golf Club and Sedona Golf Resort. With a focus on the arts and crafts of the Native Americans native to the region, Sedona has excellent shops, galleries and boutiques. With nationally recognized restaurants that are some of the best in Arizona, your dining experience will be just as memorable as the rest of Sedona, with some of the most authentic southwestern cuisine to be had. And to complete an unforgettable vacation, retire at one of the luxurious resorts and B&B’s with relaxing rooms, gourmet restaurants and opulent spas.

Private Aircraft Charter to Sedona FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Sedona?

Although Sedona is in a fairly secluded part of Arizona, it is still well-served by two great airports that welcome charter flights to the region. Sedona Airport – SEZ - is the closest to town at just about three miles away with a 10-minute drive. Interstate 20 is only 21 miles from SEZ so guests have easy access Flagstaff to the north and the entire Phoenix Metropolitan to the south. Sedona Airport’s runway is slightly shorter than most so it is best for mid-size jets and turboprops. Guests coming to Sedona in larger aircraft can use Flagstaff Pulliam Airport – FLG – which is about 25-miles and 45 minutes away by car. FLG is also idea for guests who will be also visiting Flagstaff as well as those heading to the Grand Canyon, The Kaibab National Forrest and northern Arizona’s open spaces.
