Yellowstone National Park

America's #1 National Park

In Wyoming’s northwest corner and taking up parts of Idaho and Montana is one of the world’s most impressive locations – Yellowstone National Park. Set aside in 1872 as the first national park, Yellowstone is a natural wonder known for its geothermal activity, abundant wildlife and many different ecosystems within its borders. Containing nearly half of the geothermal features on earth, the park is home to more geysers, mud pots, hot springs and fumaroles than anywhere else. As the hub of the Yellowstone Ecosystem and being protected land, Yellowstone has more mammals, 67 different species, to be exact, than anywhere else in the U.S. As such, the wildlife viewing includes grizzly bears, grey wolves, elk and much more. Because Yellowstone is worth visiting during every season, guests should expect warm summers with cool nights, cold winters and temperatures that range from the 30s-60’s during the day and night in the spring and fall.

Most guests to Yellowstone come to see some of its most famous attractions – the incredible geothermic features. Yellowstone’s biggest star is Old Faithful with its predictable eruption of boiling water that blasts thousands of gallons of water up to 185 feet in the air. Equally impressive and popular is the Grand Prismatic Spring, a 370-foot diameter and 160-foot deep hot spring that is literally every color of the rainbow and produces an otherworldly scene. With more than 2 million acres of land, it is a good idea to take guided tours on foot or in a vehicle, all led by expert guides. Guests will also enjoy the extensive outdoor activities that Yellowstone offers. Everything from hiking and backpacking to boating and fishing are available within the park, and the opportunities are endless. Lodging options in Yellowstone range from the very popular cabin rentals throughout the park to rustic, yet luxurious, lodges. And although it will be hard to see everything in one trip, Yellowstone will have you coming back again and again.
