What do I need to think about when chartering to Yellowstone National Park?
Guests heading to Yellowstone National Park have three airports to choose from that serve its different regions. For visits to the west entrance, Yellowstone Airport – WYS - is just under five miles away and is located for those staying in the town of West Yellowstone its nearby camping areas. Guests heading to the Yellowstone’s south entrance have Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport – DIJ – located in Teton County, Idaho. While DIJ airport is 91 miles away from the south entrance of Yellowstone, it is the closes and most convenient with driving times of about one-and-a-half hours. Yellowstone’s east entrance is served by Yellowstone Regional Airport – COD – set about an hour away by car in Cody, Wyoming. Because many visitors to Yellowstone use the town of Cody to base their trips, COD airport is an ideal place to choose as their arrival airport. What’s best is that all three airports have very long runways and can comfortably accommodate everything from turbo props to long-range heavy jets.
