Petaluma is served by two excellent airports with on right in town and the other to the north in the town of Santa Rosa. Closest to town is Petaluma Municipal Airport – O69 – located just three miles and a 10-minute drive from downtown. Petaluma’s airport is ideal for guests who plan also visit the southern part of Sonoma County as well as San Francisco and the East Bay. Since the runway is shorter than most, Petaluma Municipal Airport is available for guests coming to northern Sonoma County in turboprops and very light jets. Sonoma County Airport – STS – is the gateway to wine country that’s just a 25-minute drive north of Petaluma. As the region’s commercial airport serving major airlines, its runway is more than enough to handle everything from tiny turboprops to long-range heavy jets.
