While Napa Valley is regarded as the center of California Wine Country with its 400-plus wineries, visitors can also enjoy its shopping, outdoor activities and relaxing atmosphere. Located just an hour north of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the Napa Valley and its surrounding area is the premier wine producing region of the United States. It is home to hundreds of wineries and vineyards including everything from tiny, multi-generational family outfits to massive mainstream producers. What’s best about Napa Valley is that with its world-class vineyards and wineries comes a region that is filled with wonderful small towns, exciting events and endless outdoor adventures. The town of Calistoga sit on top of natural hot springs that continuously provide geothermal mineral water. Calistoga Hot Springs Spa is a luxurious boutique hotel that offers steaming mineral water pools and a volcanic mud ash spa in a sophisticated setting. At downtown Napa’s Oxbow Public Market, visitors can try locally brewed beers, pick up fresh pressed olive oil and enjoy a meal from one of the many stands. Guests traveling to Napa County can arrive and depart from the conveniently located Napa County Airport – APC. Aptly named the “Skyport to the Wine Country”, Napa County Airport perfectly serves the entire region with quick access to all of the major wineries and attractions. APC Airport is just about seven miles and a 15-minute drive to downtown Napa. The runways and facilities at Napa County Airport can comfortably accommodate all sizes and classes of aircraft. A second airport service Napa Valley is Charles M. Shultz - Sonoma County Airport - STS. Located about 35 miles to the northwest, Sonoma County Airport is about an hour away by car. As its name suggests, it serves not only Napa but the entire Sonoma wine region. San Francisco International Airport - SFO, is also available for guests heading to Napa. Although at an hour away it is a bit further, San Francisco International Airport is a great choice for those who may also be planning on visiting additional locations in and around the Bay Area.
