Nestled at the foot of the Tenmile Range in central Colorado is the ski resort town of Breckenridge. Since the first ski runs were created in 1961, Breckenridge has become a top spot for novice and expert skiers. Of course, the main draw to Breckenridge is the ski area. Set over five imposing peaks within the Tenmile Range, the runs range from beginner to double black trails. Breckenridge Ski Resort boasts 31 lifts taking skiers to 187 trails and with a base at 9,600 feet all the way up to its tallest peak at nearly 13,000 feet. Although skiers love Breckenridge, snowboarders will bask in the nearly 500 acres of bowls and terrain parks. Guests visiting Breckenridge in December will be there for the Winter Dew Tour, a winter-sports festival that showcases skiing and snowboarding’s biggest stars, all performing their most spectacular tricks on the slopes.

While Breckenridge really shines in the winter, it is certainly no slouch with things heat up during the spring and summer. With mountain and hiking, fly fishing and road biking being top-notch in Breckenridge, the summer has just as much to offer. Mountain bikers will especially appreciate the Peaks train and Flume Loops that take riders up and around this beautiful landscape. What do I need to think about when chartering to Breckenridge?

While Breckenridge does not have any airports in its immediate vicinity, there are two excellent airports that are both around an hour away by car. Nearest to Breckenridge is Lake County Airport – LXV, which is just about 44 miles from town and about an hour-long drive. LXV is set right at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains so all of the regions outdoor adventures and ski areas are a short drive away. Eagle County Airport – EGE - is 71 miles to the west of Breckenridge and along with Breckenridge, serves Vail and Beaver Creek ski areas. Eagle County Airport, like LXV, has very long runways and facilities to accommodate all sizes of charter jets.
