Sun, Snow and Serenity

When considering a trip to Colorado for winter fun on the slopes, one needs to looks no further than Vail. The mountain town was created to serve Vail Ski Resort, and the two make up what is commonly known as Vail. In 1966, the Vail Ski Resort was built, and two years later, the Town of Vail was incorporated. Vail Ski Resort sits on 5289 acres of land and boasts 193 trails over three faces that are served by 33 lifts. As for skiable land, it is the fourth largest in the U.S. with a variety of trails over mostly open terrain. The area is filled with a large number of ski and snowboarding outfitters with experts on hand to assist with rentals and purchases. And while Vail is rightfully known for its skiing and snowboarding, other exciting winter sports in the area include snowmobiling, tubing and ski-biking.

While Vail certainly shines during the winter, don’t forget that it has lots to do when it warms up, especially with outdoor sports. During the spring thaw, the Eagle Rivers rafting season takes place, and on the Colorado River, the season runs through the entire summer. On Vail Mountain, cyclists can save their legs and take the lifts to the top for an exciting ride back down. There are trails at all skill levels and all offer amazing views of the areas scenery with wildlife, vistas and valleys. Further, the summer in Vail sees endless exciting events. Extreme sports fans will really enjoy the GoPro Games and the Vail Whitewater Race Series with extreme sports on the land and in the water. For music aficionados, Bravo! Vail concert series offers some of the best orchestras in the U.S. such as the New York Philharmonic and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

Along with the amazing winter and summer seasons comes some of the best lodging and dining accommodations. At the Four Seasons Resort and Residencies’, guests enjoy five-star comfort, a full-service spa, gourmet dining and quick access to the slopes. When you are hungry, Vail has excellent restaurants to offer as it has attracted top chefs, for example Larkspur and Larkburger, where chef Thomas Salamunovich is both owner and chef. At Matsuhisa, guests dine with brilliant views of the mountain while enjoying sushi and Japanese fusion in a high-end setting. Although there are near-endless options for fun in Colorado, Vail should always be at the top of your list with its amazing winter and summer fun, top dining and five-star accommodations.

Private Aircraft Charter to Vail FAQ

What do I need to think about when chartering to Vail?

Vail and Beaver Creek resorts and ski areas are served by Eagle County Regional Airport – EGE. Although the region can see heavy weather conditions during the winter, EGE is well-equipped to handling every type and size of charter aircraft year-round. As one of the most popular ski areas in the U.S.A, EGE can easily accommodate charter jets in the same snowy conditions that make it do great for winter sports. The drive from EGE airport to Vail is just about 45 minutes and about 10 additional minutes for Beaver Creek.
