Crested Butte

Colorado’s Classic Ski Town

While Colorado is full of amazing ski resorts towns, none have retained their splendor like Crested Butte. It’s no wonder then why Crested Butte is known as “the last great Colorado ski town”. Never giving in to the bland architecture and commercialization, Crested Butte is filled with its original Victorian and Edwardian structures. Its insistence on maintaining its original character and resistance to major development gives Crested Butte a rustic and charming feel that is all luxury. And with the Crested Butte Mountain Resort calling the town home, what you have is a perfect destination for not only winter sports seekers, but also for those looking for some outdoor adventure when the snow melts and things heat up. During the summer, Crested Butte offers incredible hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. Beyond the outdoor adventures, Crested Butte hosts many fun and eclectic festivals throughout the year. With annual events like Bike Week, Alpenglow Concert Series and the Crested Butte International Film Festival, there is never a time of the year where things slow down.

What Crested Butte Mountain Resort is most known for is its top winter sports that features intense, challenging and dynamic terrain. It ranges in elevation from 9,115 feet at its base all the way to 12,170 at its summit. With 16 lifts that bring skiers more than 120 runs, Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers 1,574 acres of skiable terrain for your downhill pleasure. When winter ends in Crested Butte and all the snow melts, the region transforms into one of endless outdoor adventure. Holding the title of the birthplace of mountain biking, Crested Butte has as much downhill excitement during the summer as in the winter. With more than 700 miles of singletrack trails of ever skill level, Crested Butte’s mountain biking is some of the best in the world. The lodging options in Crested Butte range from quaint B&B’s and Inn’s to luxury hotels and resorts. The 4-star Elevation Hotel and Spa is a ski-in/ski out resort that is set at the base of Mt. Crested Butte and features distinctive rooms, an opulent spa and fine dining.
