Steamboat Springs

Powdery Fun on Every Run

Imagine a place that at one point in time, skiing was the only way to get around town. Now see this location in the present day and add to that a wonderful town with amazing resorts and you have the ski mecca of Steamboat Springs. Commonly called “Steamboat”, this resort town in the northern reaches of Colorado is one of the top ski destinations in the world. Steamboat Ski Resort, set on Mount Werner, has a long and rich history in the skiing world. It hosted the Alpine Skiing World Cup and has seen many top skiers get their start on the mountain. There are nearly 3,000 acres of skiable terrain and 165 named trails. About half of the 165 trails are for advanced skiers, making it a huge draw experienced winter athletes. Mavericks Superpipe brings top snowboarders to its massive snow-covered half-pipe that is made for catching some of the biggest air in the Rockies.

And while skiing is the order of the day in Steamboat, this isn’t to say that things quiet down in the summer. When the weather heats up, Steamboat Ski Resort transforms into a summer sports Mecca. Adrenalin junkies will love the mountain coaster that is reachable from a scenic gondola ride to the top of the mountain. In addition, Steamboat boasts some of the region’s best hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. Fun on the water is available at Stagecoach Reservoir with incredible waterskiing, tubing and motor boating. And when guests are ready for some time in town, Steamboat Springs has an historic downtown area that is a wonderful place to spend some time. Steamboat Springs’ historic downtown district is filled with gourmet restaurant, fun shops and an eclectic collection of galleries. In the evenings, Steamboat Springs has a lively nightlife scene with great bars, clubs and live shows throughout the year.
